The engineering and procurement activity on a project is a highly complex operation, with materials sourced globally, for delivery to the right place, at the right time. Vendor selection can influence the performance, quality, cost and delivery of operation-ready plants. The presentation will discuss the work process that KBR, a leading EPC contractor, would typically use, to identify, evaluate, and select suitable vendors, for a range of different plant equipment and bulk materials. The discussion will further focus on the project structure and the impacts of that on vendor selection. The presenters will explain how the choice affects subsequent activity, with examples of working with the successful vendor after order placement.
