How to face sour gas production when containing mercaptans, taking into account the more and more stringent specifications on sales gas, LPG and environmental emissions ?
Several schemes can be considered and for each project, the objective is to determine the best existing technologies to be involved in selected sour gas treatment linked with the plant context.
As a matter of fact, several parameters have to be considered today for scheme selection such as products and associated specifications ( sales gas, oil, condensate, LPG, where mercaptans or total sulphur content requirements are more and more stringent), OPEX and CAPEX optimization. Moreover, the environmental emissions have also become a key issue to be considered for Acid Gas Removal Units, Sulfur Removal Units and Tail Gas Treatment Units technology selection (SO2 emissions, Sulphur recovery….).
