cMISTTM: Novel, Compact Dehydration System for Reducing Size and Weight
Presented at 2017 Spring Conference held at Hilton Garden Inn, Milan North on 17 - 19 May 2017 by Danny Thierens, Sulzer
The natural gas industry is increasingly pursuing compact and lower weight processing technology to meet the technological and economic demands of offshore, onshore, remote, and challenged gas processing. This paper describes ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company's (EMURC) new Compact Mass transfer and Inline Separation Technology (cMISTTM), meant to replace conventional TEG towers and associated separator vessels to meet pipeline dew point specifications. cMISTTM achieves this goal with significant reductions in weight, footprint and cost. Field demonstration results are discussed to establish the effectiveness and advantages of this novel technology. cMISTTM for dehydration is licensed to SULZER for onshore and offshore applications.
