This paper focuses on the two innovative technologies: DAP (Double Absorption Process) and STREP (Selective Treating Regeneration Enhancement Process). While dealing with lean acid gases with undesired contaminants such as ammonia, BTEX and cyanides, these two patent pending technologies significantly reduce the energy consumption and equipment count while enhancing the sulphur removal efficiency and meeting the most stringent environmental requirements.
The processes can be used to cost effectively integrate acid gas removal, acid gas enrichment and Claus tail gas treating processes to achieve an overall sulphur recovery that exceeds 99.9 percent.
Several configurations using the DAP and STREP processes for various integration configurations are presented in this paper. Applications of these configurations to new and revamped facilities will be discussed
