Late Life Gas Production Enhancement

An Operator eager to maximise facility utilisation in a subdued price environment approached Petrofac to identify and develop production enhancement opportunities for a gas facility operating in late life. This paper looks at the schemes considered for production enhancement, resulting in the final recommendation of a phased approach to enhancing production based on an immediate export pipeline to shore packing pressure reduction, an intermediate flowing tubing head pressure (FTHP) reduction within the capabilities of the Production Compressor, and installation of a gas eductor to allow further FTHP reduction while eliminating the need for subsequent costly modifications to the Production Compressor and downstream processing and transportation facilities.
