Coronavirus live update: GPA Europe Spring Conference 2020 postponed

After consultation with the Officers of GPA Europe, we have taken the decision to postpone the GPA Europe Spring Conference (due to take place 2 – 4 June 2020), due to the situation surrounding COVID-19.

This is not a decision we have taken lightly and there are two overriding concerns that have caused us to make this decision at this time.

First, our primary concern is always the responsibility we feel towards our delegates, exhibitors and partners, without whom we could not stage our event.

Second is the uncertainty caused by the fact that throughout mainland Europe but in particular France, countrywide restrictions were announced this weekend. These announcements make the probability of factors outside our control which might otherwise force us to cancel the event at the last minute much higher. Feedback from member companies has also been that cancellation of all but essential travel will likely continue for the foreseeable future.

Both of these factors – uncertainty around whether our Spring Conference will be allowed to proceed in June, as well as doubts as to the number of delegates who will be able to attend – have led us to the conclusion that we now have no option but to postpone the GPA Europe Spring Conference 2020.

A decision based on facts

We want to make it very clear that we have made this decision based purely on the facts as we know them today and, importantly for the whole GPA Europe Management Team, based on the responsibility and genuine care we feel for all our members and the global Gas Processing Industry community.

Committed to serving the industry

Despite the disappointment and impact we know you will feel, we want you to know that we’re fully committed to serving this industry. We’re already working hard in the background to reschedule our Spring Conference and will announce these plans once the situation has stabilised and circumstances are clearer.

Once again, we thank the industry for the support that has been shown to us and we are here to support others in the industry as we all work through these difficult times.
