Barrow Onshore Terminal Gas and Liquid Processing
With the completion of Phase I Stage I of the Morecambe Bay Project gas is available from nineteen offshore production wells at a maximum flowrate of 35.2 mscmd (1265 mscfd). The role of the Terminal at Barrow is to condition the gas received from offshore to ensure that contract quality conditions of water and hydrocarbon dewpoint, odour intensity, hydrogen sulphide content, specific gravity and calorific value are achieved. In addition to the gas, significant quantities of associated liquids are received. At peak production rates 910 m3 (200,000 gallons) of liquids have to be processed on a daily basis before passing to bulk storage and sale by marine tanker. The purpose of this paper is to describe the processing facilities at the Terminal.
